My Girls ~ Princess and the Pea Theme

I just LOVED doing this session with my little girls...well, until it was time to tear it all down, that is! :)  The girls and I made their crowns out of lace.  I got the idea from Tatertots and Jello.  You should try it.  Easy(ish) and CUTE! :)

I was thinking we would just go in the backyard and take some fun pics with their crowns, when it HIT me!!  Why NOT set up a princess and the pea theme in the backyard?!?!?!  It was a GREAT idea, until I realized that mattresses are HEAVY!!  Perfect project to take on when the Hubs is out of town, right?  But, I had to press forward and I'm SOOOOO glad I did!  Can't wait to get these printed and on my wall!!  I'm thinking something new like Fine Art Metals.  As my girls would say, "Ooooh LaLa!".

I told Audrey to act like she was looking for the pea and Elise took the job seriously.  I love those little girls! :)

The {B} Family ~ Evans, GA Family Photographer

I've greatly enjoyed getting to know this family over the past 9 months!!  Such a GREAT family!!  Not only do I consider them friends, but he is my periodontist; AND, I'm pretty sure she is Super MOM!! Kind, kind, kind people! :) I'm sad that they will be moving to the Atlanta area soon, but it's not far.  Any of you readers out there up GA 400 who need a periodontist, be sure to look him up!!  You won't regret it!

Gooey Butter Bars ~ A recipe from a photographer

I know this is a photography blog, but sometimes I make something that people beg for the recipe and other times, I am the one begging for recipes!!  So, I thought this would be an easy way to get all my FAVS out there to share!  I can't say this will be a regular thing, but when the mood strikes, I'll post something YUMMY!  I just want to keep you on your toes!

So, today's recipe is Gooey Butter Bars!!  Seriously, how could you go wrong with a dessert that has the words butter AND gooey in it?  They are in fact, buttery and gooey and VERY addictive!  A friend of a friend brought this to a get together and I HAD to have the recipe.  She delivered with a copy from some cook book, I have no idea which one so I can give no credit, but I don't want to take the credit either!!

Gooey Butter Bars
Here we go...

what you need:

Crust
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Filling
  • 1 package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
First, mix all 3 of the ingredients for the crust in a mixer until well mixed and thick.  About 2 minutes.

Take a spatula and scrap out the bowl and pat the mixture evenly on the bottom of a 9x13 pan.

Now, the BEST part of the recipe is that you DO NOT even have to clean out your bowl, it just doesn't matter!!  So, take that same mixing bowl and mix the softened cream cheese until it's fluffy.

Then, add 1 stick melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 2 eggs.  Mix for about 1 minute.

Next,  add the 3 3/4 cups of powered sugar.  Mix again for about 1 minute.

Poor evenly over the crust and then bake until it's golden all over and still jiggles a little in the middle.

The recipe says bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.  My oven runs hot so I baked mine about 40  minutes.  This is how it looked when it came out.  I placed it on a cooling rack to cool all around.  PERFECT!!

You HAVE to make them!!  If it's not for a big group, no worries, they are even BETTER the next day! :)  Enjoy and come back and tell me what you think! :)

The {R} Family ~ Evans, GA Family Photographer

I first met this client/friend in the fall at Panera Bread.  We have 3 girls all the same age, so perfect for play dates, right?  You would think!  We were both just so busy we jut couldn't get together!  But we texted over a few months and FINALLY got together at the park this spring.   What makes this story even better, her hubby was the ENT that took out Nora's tonsils in December!!  I guess our friendship was just FATE!  he he!

I was honored when she asked my to take pics of their family.  They will be moving soon, so I'm glad we at least got to know each other a little more before they leave!

Baby {G} ~ Evans, GA Newborn Photographer

I LOVED spending the morning with this sweet little guy!  I REALLY mean that!  He is such a sweet baby and totally had me considering having another baby, crazy, I know!!  I have no doubt he's keeping Mommy and Daddy up at night, but how could you be frustrated with this sweet little face?  There is only one word I think when I look at this little angle...SWOON! :)

I also got to take a few pics of his proud big brother and sister!  What an adorable family!!
